Basic Theory of C.M.A.S--Ryodoraku Theory

C.M.A.S. stands for Cloudtcm Meridian Analysis System, is the state of the art in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It is designed to measure a person’s twelve meridian energy level, and apply the results to diagnose  examninee’s health based on Ryodoraku theory since 1951. C.M.A.S. records the energy level and presents the results in the comprehensive format of charts.

In 1951 Dr. Yoshio Nakatani presented his research and theory of RYODORAKU Acupuncture. He had found that there were a series of low electrical resistance points (or high electrical conductivity) running longitudinally up and down the body, similar to the ancient Chinese acupuncture meridians. Thus, he called these lines (or meridians) “Ryodoraku” (ryo = good, ‘do is (electro) conductive, ‘raku = line).

C.M.A.S. hardware is developed by Ryodoraku theory, we can also called it a “Neurometer”. It uses a constant voltage of 12V and a variable current ( 200uA ) , it is best for academic or research using.

The Composition of C.M.A.S

The C.M.A.S. comprised of a measuring device and the application software. The measuring device is easy to install and communicates with a computer through USB port. The hardware is designed to work under various weather and environment. The application software provides graphical user interface and all functions are fully integrated with Microsoft Windows.

The C.M.A.S. measures each meridian’s activity level by applying the probe to a single representative point of that meridian. It reads 24 points in total (12 left meridian, 12 right meridians) and automatically input the energy value into a computer. The reading of one meridian point takes less than 5 seconds and the entire measurement process will only take about 3 minutes to complete. After the data is collected, the software will analyze the examninee’s physiological status and outputs the results in a graphical report. User can also print out the data for future reference.

Meridian Measurement Step by Step

With C.M.A.S. software, it will guide you to collect 24 Meridian Energy Values, You only need to follow the instructions and pictures on the screen step-by-step. The pictures will assist you to locate the probe on the correct merdian points. The measurement order is :

1. Palm and back of the left hand   2. Palm and back of the right hand
3. The central and lateral part of the left foot
4. The central and lateral part of the right foot

Automatic Calibration

The calibration procedure is important to obtain accurate readings. C.M.A.S. makes the calibration easy and automatic. The Automatic calibration process maintain the accuracy of C.M.A.S. and keep the error within the range of 5%. The calibration process should be performed before every measurement.

Twelve Meridian Chart

12 Meridian Chart is the most comprehensive view of examinee’s health condition by comparing energy value of 12 meridians. A think black horizontal line lying in middle of the chart represents the average of adjusted energy value. Four additional horizontal lines: H1 and L1 represents the tolerable value thresholds, while H2 and L2 represents the imbalance thresholds. These thresholds are dynamically calculated based on the adjusted energy values, not absolute numbers. Each meridian is represented by a colored bar. The left and right of the same meridian are paired together. A central vertical line seperates the hands and feet meridians groups. It will help you a lot on the visualisation of meridian conditions.

Meridian Research

Since 2019, we have been publishing articles related to meridian research in Chinese medicine almost every day for three years now, and have accumulated hundreds of related research results in Chinese. We will also continue to translate some abstracts for those who are interested in a quick understanding.
